What is Google Wave?

There has been a fair deal of hype about the latest and greatest from Google, yet to be released, Google Wave. So, what is it?!

Google Wave is a real time communication platform combining, email, Chat, social networking and project management. Combining these elements together into one platform promises to be a quick and easy way to communicate and share files within one clean interface, Google Wave.

From what I’ve seen thus far, Wave looks to be a very interesting communication tool that may well revolutionize the ways we communicate and share information.

Instead of me banging on about this new tool (yet to be released) I thought I’d leave this one up to the professionals, Google, enjoy.

Looks like a great product, particularly if it is, as they said in the presentation, Open Source.
The tee shirts they are wearing in the video are the worst ever…. nasty color and the drop shadow under the logo looks like a stain.

I know that video advertising marketing and link exchange is very important to small businesses. After getting booted off you tube.com ,there are sites like htt://adwido.com that gives you free link exchange, video uploads and even a simple web page that will link to your business site.

I wonder if this product will have the substance to provide some real competition to the corporate giant of “Outlook”, being a corporate solution that is highly scalable “grrrrrr Microsoft” makes it hard to beat…
Being able to deliver content without the requirement of an installed application is a great capability however the dependency created by the application existing server side eliminates any chance of offline functionality.
However, great job in taking a number of existing communication methods and creating an innovative solution that is sure to become the next fad…Web 3.0?? ;oP Real-time response display was definately interesting however I recall seeing this somewhere before….anyone recall?
As well as targeted message repsonse also an intuitive feature.
Just one question remains…will this wave create a ripple?
