Three Ways to Generate Leads for Your Business on Facebook

Social media is a great way to stay in touch with your customers, but to fully appreciate what social can do for your business, you need to do more than post and respond. For years, Facebook has been one of the best free to low-cost solutions a small business owner can use in order to help generate more buzz about their company. In fact, Facebook has recently relaxed some of its regulations on running contests which can allow the platform to be harnessed as a lead-gen goldmine.

Here are three easy (and free!) ways to generate more leads for your business:

  1. Start a contest – A great way to attract new followers is by running a Facebook contest. Contests are a great way for you to build brand awareness by casting a wide net, you expose your company to potential customers that were not previously engaged with your business. While you can get very qualified leads, you also tend to get entries from people that are simply interested in free stuff. It would be in your best interest to add some additional demographic and/or professional questions to your contest entry form, such as occupation, age, or other items that may make sorting through and following up with leads easier on you.

    The best way to capture these leads is by using a customized Facebook application, which you can build easily with free (premium available), widget-based, drag and drop editors. This is another place in which Facebook gives you an invaluable opportunity to gather more leads by including a newsletter opt-in page. Many of the more popular email service providers such as MailChimp and Constant Contact make it as simple as a few clicks to install opt-in pages you can embed on Facebook.

    Another great way to build your email database is by utilizing the aforementioned Facebook application platforms, Shortstack, Woobox, and Agora. Often times, those potential customers are willing to share their email address in order to see what your company has to offer.
