Since YouTube videos are appearing more frequently in the search results, it makes sense to include YouTube in a marketing strategy. As you have pointed out, Google owns YouTube so the priority treatment that is given to YouTube results is likely to continue. You are right about putting the link in early. People do not always watch videos to the end. If they get the answer to their question early, they will close the video and move on to something else before it is through.
