Although everybody's talking about natural link building, I think much of link building is inherently a nonnatural process. Of course, one should build links so that the link profile looks as organic as possible. That said, search engines should be very careful about penalizing sites for what it considers unnatural so that their algorithms do not get exploited by negative SEO tactics.

Consider posting an infographic or powerful visual on your site. Users are more likely to share infographics and visual images on Facebook and other sites, which naturally builds your site’s backlink power. When it comes to link bait, quality, original content scores higher than purchased back linking or copied website promotion material.

I do like posts like this. SEO should be done the right way and this post explains how it can be done without black hat techniques. I just wish others would follow this guide and the web would be a better place for it!

Ye your right, there is no easy way to get back links and definitely no short cuts in buying is worth it in the long run. I mean what a waste of time and money buying them to be caught out. The only way is slow and steady like you have said, commenting on posts and maybe put your site in directories advertising your business, l don't know what those back links are worth but they all count. Also having a site that <a href="http://www.ocdsite.com" / rel="nofollow"> helps people for free</a> always helps.
