Some of you may already be aware of the up and coming major update from Google called "Caffeine". Reported to speed up search results and make the results even more relevant for the searcher, YAY!

In the past major Google search updates have not gone unnoticed, without striking fear into you all too much, the previous major Google updates  (2003 and 2005/2006) did see some "shift" in the search engine results, sites did drop, others benefiting from the index update.
We're all constantly trying to climb to the top of a Google search results page! Well here is a great hint that may help you climb search results a little faster.

Recently Google rep Matt Cutts suggested that page load times / speed of your website will affect your site position in Google. This hint is in line with other news the Google plan to "speed up the internet".
So in my virtual travels I always get asked the one million dollar question "how can I get to the top of Google?" and this question is often followed by "what do you use to optimize websites?"

New Google Street View Launch

By now should all be familiar with Google Maps and the Street View section of Google Maps.
For those of you who may not be familiar with Street View; it's a series of photos that have been taken of many main streets in the world. Giving you the searcher an almost "been there" feel when searching for a location within Google Maps.
In his keynote speech for SMX Sydney, Danny Sullivan mentioned something that really resonated with me. He talked about how he sees social media marketing and SEO as reinforcing each other, like that old cartoon, the Wonder Twins where the brother and sister touched their hands together to create some awesome power to defeat the bad guys.
